Pretty Girl

Friday night, while I was saying goodbye to my extended family, Micaela was making herself pretty. She helped herself to my long lasting lipstick. You know, the kind that prides itself on not coming off very easily.

My mom said I did something very similar when I was M's age, only I ruined a pillowcase. I told my mom that at least you can just throw out the pillowcase. I can't throw out the girl, I've got to clean her up!

Slip-n-Slide Summer Fun

The kids had fun playing on the slip-n-slide yesterday. It was a refreshing activity for such a hot Saturday afternoon. John even joined in. It was a good physics lesson emphasizing that the greater your mass, the longer you will slide.

Here was the next lesson learned.




We had no idea that a slip-n-slide could cause so much damage. Our next lesson will have to be on lawn restoration. We'll have to get a guest lecturer. Any volunteers?

Sauerkraut

Chris: What's that white stuff, Dad?
Dad: Sauerkraut.
Chris (puzzled): So it's sour and it's crap? (Wondering why Dad is eating it.)
(Mom's trying not to laugh.)
Dad: What?!
Chris: Well you said it's Sourcrap.
(Now Mom is trying to catch her breath from laughing so hard.)
Mom: No, Sauerkraut. (Thinking, Yes Chris you got it right the first time.)

The Next Merit Badge

I was having a hard time getting Jonny's attention when the TV was on. Chris said, "I guess Jonny hasn't earned the Listening Merit Badge yet."
